Wyoming State Data Center Program

The U.S. Census Bureau's State Data Center (SDC) program, administered by the Customer Liaison Office (CLO) was created in 1978 to provide an effective vehicle for the dissemination of information and data produced by the Census Bureau to data users through a wide network of Data Centers, including lead, coordinating, and affiliate partnerships in each state.

The Division of Economic Analysis serves as the lead agency for seven additional government organizations in Wyoming which, together, make up the Wyoming State Data Center Network. The Wyoming SDC is the official state sources of demographic, social, and economic statistics produced by the Census Bureau. These data will be made available by the Census Bureau at no charge to SDC. The Wyoming SDC makes these data accessible to state and local governmental, and non-governmental data users at no charge (usually) or on a cost recovery as appropriate. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is signed biannually by the Census Bureau and Wyoming SDC lead.

The Wyoming State Data Center and the Census Bureau have adopted the following Core Competencies to insure effective operation of the program:

  • Program Administration
  • Data dissemination
  • Data analysis, technical assistance, and consultation
  • Customized programming/product development
  • Education and promotion of censuses
  • Product training
  • Assistance with census operations
  • Web presence
  • Participation in national or regional meetings

The Wyoming SDC Newsletter timely provides data users with statistical data and reports available for Wyoming, and analyses on the data from U.S. Census Bureau and other federal agencies such as Bureau of Economic Analysis. The newsletter is in the widely adopted PDF format. To view and print files in the PDF format you need Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download the free software here:
