2010 Census Radio Public Service Annoucement
(PSA) Program

Local officials can record a Census 2010 message
and the Census Bureau will place message in a radio
ad and send it to local radio stations. Various scripts
are available. More information

to help communicate the importance of Census 2010.
The information is tailored to reach different
audiences, such as American Indians, Hispanics,
college students, businesses, and faith-based

Census Questionnaire - What you should know...
The 2010 questionnaire is only 10 questions.
Questions are asked about age, gender, household
relationship, homeownership or rent, race, and

Census 2010 Time-line

March 1- April 2: Questionnaires are hand
delivered to areas where mail is not delivered to a
physical address

March 15-17: Questionnaires are mailed to areas
where mail is delivered to a physical address

March 22-May 28: Wind River Reservation
Enumeration (counting via interviews)

March 23-April 20: Questionnaires are mailed in
Late Mailing phase

March 29-May 31: Service-Based Enumeration
(counting people experiencing homelessness)

APRIL 1, 2010: CENSUS DAY

April 1-May 14: Group Quarters Enumeration
(dormitories, military barracks, jails, nursing homes)

May 1-August 27: Non-response follow-up for
housing units.

December 31: Apportionment counts are delivered
to the President

April 1, 2011: All states receive redistricting
counts

2011-2013: Detailed demographic, economic, and
social data for all geographic levels will be gradually
released to the public.

On December 3, 2008, the Governor of Wyoming, Dave Freudenthal, issued a PROCLAMATION declaring the year 2009 as Census 2010 Awareness in Wyoming to show the state's commitment and support to the Census. A statewide Complete Count Committee, Census 2010 Wyoming Counts, was created to help with Census 2010 education and awareness. Full List of Committee Members

The Committee is comprised of respected community leaders from state and local government, education, business, community and religious organizations. The Committee embodies the importance of cooperative effort between local governments and U.S. Census Bureau to enhance efforts in data collection, recruiting, and promotional activities.

  • Goals and Objectives of the Committee
    • Make everyone in the community aware of Census 2010.
    • Motivate communities to participate by filling out the census form and returning it immediately.
    • Develop a local targeted plan of action to support Census 2010 operation, recruiting, and promotion.
    • Use highly visible and well-respected local figures to increase community support for and response to the census.
    • Promote the census to community residents through government departments, particularly those agencies with extensive public contacts.
    • Implement activities that will improve census participation by all residents, especially historically undercounted segments of the population.
    • Emphasize the Census Bureau's commitment to confidentiality to further increase participation in the census.
    • Augment media programs, publicity, and promotions conducted by the Census Bureau.
    • Provide local knowledge and intelligence that will assist Census Bureau's operational activities and programs.
    • Support Census Bureau's programs and activities that promote and improve the census.
    • Support Census Bureau's recruitment of employees needed to conduct the census.

  • The Public is welcome to participate in the meetings and activities.

    U.S. Census Bureau also encourages local governments and community organizations to form their own Complete Count Committee (CCC) Programs (brochure) to achieve an accurate population count in 2010. (CCC Handbook)
